hand — nothing else in CBS can group by department until at least
one exists.

The code cannot be changed afterwards
MED, OBG, ORTHO. Letters, digits, underscore or hyphen. It is
the key the roster, the store and the payment terms all join
on, so it is fixed once created.

Leave blank to take somebody out of a department. That is a
real state, not an omission — a locum covering three units
belongs to none of them.
The suggested board
The National Medical Commission's department and specialty naming, already used by every seeded facility. Adopting it creates only the codes this facility does not have, and changes nothing that already exists.
